How do we pay the deposit and remaining instalments?
For guests residing in New Zealand Internet transfer is best as some owners may charge you a credit card fee.
For over seas guests, Credit Card is best.
To whom do we pay the deposit?
Pay directly to us Property Matters BOI Ltd., P.O. Box 275, Russell. We hold the deposit in our Holding account until the cancellation period has passed.
How do we find the property we have booked & obtain a key?
Someone from Property Matters will arrange to meet you and take you to the house.
Where do I get the key?
When we meet you at the pointed place to show you in.
How often does the car ferry run?
Every 10 - 15 mins
How long does the trip take?
Approximately 7 minutes.
What time does the ferry start?
6.40am from Russell side.
What time does the ferry finish?
10.00pm from the Opua side.
Do we have to come and go via the car ferry always?
No you can come around the Waikare Inlet road but not recommended unless you miss the ferry.
Will someone be there in case we need help regarding the house?
Yes. Someone from Property Matters will be on call or the owners.
Can I buy groceries in Russell?
Yes we have 2 Four Square grocery stores and an organics shop.
Is there a wine shop?
Yes we have one at the moment & both Super Markets stock wine & beer etc.
In high season do we have to book trips before we get there?
It does help, to ensure you can go when you want to.
Is there a Catholic Church service?
Yes check at the Church for service times.
Can I catch fish in Russell?
There are several fishing charters operating and you can always throw a line in from the rocks or even the wharf. There is a fishing tackle specialist store where gear can be bought or hired.

How can I add my holiday house to your web site?
Yes just give us a call or email us with your details.
How much does it cost?
Generally a one listing fee applies of $175.00 + gst for taking photos, adding you to varies websites and other bonuses as well.
How do people find your web site?
Usually on Google search, but we advertise in the Herald from time to time. We are also listed on many directories and other sites.
Can you manage our home completely as we live too far away to do the rentals and see to the guests ourselves?
Yes we can manage your home for you, we will rent it when you or your family and friends are not using it. We can take the worry from you, making the whole exercise simple.

How do we go about getting you to manage our property for us?

We can arrange a time to meet with you and inspect the property together, or if you are not living here, we will inspect the property, and email you a report, making suggestions as to what we think is necessary and ideas about the best way to tackle marketing your home for holiday rental.
Do we have to rent our home or can you just do the management of it, so we can just come and stay without the worry of cleaning, gardening etc?
Yes we can just do the management of your home if you wish.
How much does it cost to have you manage our home?
This depends on exactly what you wish us to do, we charge by the hour. Those who have us manage their home say it is well worth the cost to have someone regularly look through the house making sure everything is working properly. After discussions with you as to what your requirements are, we would give you an estimate of the cost.
